The Slingshot is the first tool that can be obtained in Phoenotopia and Phoenotopia Awakening. It is given to Gale by Alex in the Doki Forest at the entrance to Anuri Temple. It launches small stones and is primarily used to hit switches that Gail can't reach on her own, but it can also be used as a weapon. The Slingshot is pretty weak and only stuns most enemies, but it will instantly kill especially weak enemies such as Slimes, Cave Jellies, and Bats. Spiders also take damage from the Slingshot, and can be killed in 12 hits by it.

In both games, the Slingshot's aiming cursor moves automatically and it is up to the player to hit the button to launch a stone when the cursor is in the right spot. In Phoenotopia Awakening, however, it's possible to lock the cursor in place to make aiming a little easier.

In Phoenotopia it deals 1 damage, as has been revealed by Quells on his blog. For comparison, the Wooden Bat deals 10 damage with a non-charged hit. In Phoenotopia: Awakening this has been changed to 4.

The Slingshot is also the weapon needed to defeat the Monster Toad. Gail uses it to knock Duri Fruits out of the trees so they hit the boss and cause him to turn around in confusion, leaving his weak point exposed long enough to deal damage.

Treble Shot[]

The Treble Shot is a more powerful variant of the Slingshot introduced in Phoenotopia: Awakening invented by Thomas. Gail can receive it from him in exchange for 10 Moonstones.

The Treble Shot has all the same capabilities as the original Slingshot, but with one key difference: it's able to launch three stones at a time instead of one, making it great for hitting multiple targets at once. The Treble Shot's stones have a base damage of 7, making the weapon considerably more powerful than the Slingshot in terms of damage.

Description[]

TrebleShot

"A Thomas-improved version of the Slingshot.  The metallic handle and prongs have been balanced for fast handling.  The addition of a snappier cord and bigger ammunition pouch allows it to fling three rocks at once and at a higher velocity."

Trivia[]

  • Interestingly, in Phoenotopia firing the Slingshot multiple times at a Toad will eventually trigger its death croak, even though the Toad never dies.
