The Fishing Rod is an optional tool that can be bought at Moonlit Ravine in Phoenotopia Awakening. Once purchased, Gale can use the Fishing Rod near water to try and catch fish. Once the line is cast, the player can either wait for a fish to bite or reel it in. If a fish bites the hook, it'll trigger a minigame where a small radar appears in the left side of the screen with a cursor and a moving patch of green; to catch the fish, the player must make sure the cursor stays within the green patch until the fish tires out. Once the fish is caught, Gale will reel it in and the fish instantly becomes a consumable item.
